mmtests/kernbench

Kernel compile benchmark measuring build throughput across CPU counts.

Benchmark Profile

  • Type: Macro

  • Kernel subsystem: Scheduler, memory management, filesystem I/O

  • Coverage: Inferred from kernel build throughput

  • Topology: Single role: executer

Overview

kernbench compiles the Linux kernel at multiple parallelism levels to measure build throughput and scalability. It stresses the CPU, memory system, and file I/O subsystems simultaneously.

Fastpath Parameters

Description

config-base

Base mmtests configuration file.

config

Additional mmtests configuration overrides.

performance-governor

Whether to request the performance CPU governor before running the mmtests workload.

Result Classes

Result class names encode the number of parallel jobs, for example ‘Jobs: 8’.
